Hi, my name is Matt Cutts and I joined Google as a software engineer in January 2000. I wrote the first version of SafeSearch, which is Google’s family filter and worked as the head of Google’s webspam team for many years.
From January 2017 until April 2021, I served as the administrator of the U.S. Digital Service, which is the group of geeks that helped rescue healthcare.gov.
Before Google, I worked on a Ph.D. in computer graphics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have an M.S. from UNC-Chapel Hill, and B.S. degrees in both mathematics and computer science from the University of Kentucky.
I’m currently living in Washington, D.C. with my partner Lindsay and our dog Rojo.
